Through this dedicated space, you can keep up to date with school news, enjoy regular updates, and discover what’s happening within the wider St Hilda’s community. The site also offers a growing archive of photographs and galleries, celebrating everything from annual school pictures to significant milestones and memorable events.

We hope that this becomes a place where you can revisit old memories, reconnect with familiar faces, and feel part of the evolving story of St Hilda’s.

We warmly invite you to register as a member of the St Hilda’s Alumni community. Registration is open to former pupils, current and former parents, grandparents, as well as past and present members of staff. Once registered, you will gain access to the Alumni site, where you can explore archives, read updates, enjoy photographs from across the decades, and receive invitations to future reunions and events.

Celebrating Our History

St Hilda’s holds a remarkable collection of school photographs and historical images, with annual school photos dating back to the early years of the school. More recent photographs, digital archives and contributions from the Old Girls network add to this valuable collection. Our galleries will allow you to explore the school’s heritage offering a nostalgic window into life at St Hilda’s across the decades.

We also welcome contributions from former pupils and families. Your memories, stories and photographs form an important part of our shared history, and we would love to include them as the archive grows.

Events and Reunions

The year 2026 marks an exciting milestone — 135 years of St Hilda’s. To celebrate, we will be hosting an Alumni event bringing together former pupils, families and staff to mark this special occasion. Further details will be shared with the Alumni community once confirmed, along with information about future reunions and opportunities to reconnect in person.

We hope these events will give old friends a chance to catch up, rediscover the school, and celebrate the traditions that have always made St Hilda’s such a special place.

On Friday, our school community came together at @highstreetmethodist Church for our Harvest Festival, bringing the first half of term to a beautiful close.

With autumn sunshine streaming through the windows, the girls filled the church with a wonderful selection of songs, accompanied by rousing congregational hymns. Our Form VI girls read with confidence and expression, whilst our youngest children in Kittiwakes and Reception were a particular delight, taking part in their very first school service and making us immensely proud.

This year’s service centred on caring for our suffering world and protecting its future, a timely reminder of the importance of compassion, gratitude and looking beyond ourselves. We were delighted to support Harpenden Foodbank through a donation of provisions, as well as Action Against Hunger Nepal Flood Appeal thanks to the fundraising efforts of our girls leading up to the service. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed.

There is something very special about hearing the whole school sing together: so many voices, one community, united in a moment of reflection and gratitude. It was a truly uplifting way to end the half term, and a morning to be thankful for.

We wish all our families, and the wider SHS community, a restful and happy half term break.

What a day for the SHS ski team! St Hilda`s are @isaschools National Indoor Ski Champions, after a brilliant day of racing at @thesnowcentre in Hemel Hempstead.

This was a big, competitive championship, with more than 250 racers from nearly 50 independent schools entered across the day. In the junior girls` competition alone, 49 girls from 17 schools lined up, including strong squads from Rydal Penrhos, Abbot`s Hill, Parsons Green Prep, Knightsbridge School and Thomas`s Battersea.

Last year, our team were narrowly pipped into second place by Rydal Penrhos. This year, they came back determined, and it showed. St Hilda`s built a clear winning margin and took home the trophy for Overall Best Junior Girls.

There were individual podium placings too, with a superb performance from Reva L, who took gold 🥇 in the U10s, and Georgia E, who claimed bronze 🥉 in the U12s.

Every one of our eight skiers played their part, and this result is a real reflection of the hard work, commitment and team spirit the girls have shown in training. A huge thank you to our coach, Alex Reidy, and to all the parents for their fantastic support on and off the slope.

We`re so proud of you, girls, and can`t wait to see what the rest of the ski season brings.

There’s nothing like a run in the September sunshine to set you up for the week ahead.

Our girls took to the field during break-time for the Daily Mile - running, walking, chatting, encouraging one another and pushing themselves to go as far as they could.

It was lovely to see the whole school moving together, committing to `their mile` whilst also cheering each other on.

Because the Daily Mile isn’t about being the fastest or running the furthest. It’s about everyone getting involved, moving at their own pace and enjoying being active together.

Such a lovely start to the week at St Hilda’s!
